Military Benefits
We’re dedicated to serving veteran and military personnel.
Since 1986, Liberty University has offered convenient military friendly education for the courageous men and women who have served and continue to serve our great country. Honoring those who serve is at the core of who we are: Christ-centered educators who strive to impact the world and the workplace.
Honoring those who serve includes providing benefits to every branch of active military, reservists, veterans, and military spouses. Discover the benefits Liberty University can provide you:
Military Tuition Discount
Online military, veteran, and military spouse students are given a discount to reduce their tuition to $250 per credit hour. This discount applies to associate, bachelor's and all master's level programs, as well as the Doctor of Education program. It also keeps tuition within the Tuition Assistance cap per credit hour requirement.
Military Book Voucher
Undergraduate, military, veteran, and military spouse students are given a book voucher worth $100-$400 based on the number of courses taken per term. This is a free benefit for all undergraduate military students and is not based upon any outside aid.
Technology Fee Waiver
All military students who enroll in at least 6 hours per term (in any combination of sub-terms) will receive a $150 technology fee waiver for the semester.
Tuition Assistance & GI Bill/Veterans Benefits
Military support staff are available to process military and veteran benefits, including Military Tuition Assistance, the Post 9-11 GI Bill, the Montgomery GI Bill, and the Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program. Also included are benefits for those who qualify for VA Vocational Rehabilitation.
Heroes Fund Scholarship
The Heroes Fund Scholarship is offered to service members and veterans who were wounded in the Gulf Wars – men and women who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, or Operation Iraqi Freedom. Spouses of soldiers who were killed in action during these conflicts are also eligible for this scholarship.
Evaluation of Military Training for College Credit
Liberty University offers a free evaluation of military training and experience for college credit. All credit granted for military training is given based on the American Council on Education (ACE) guide recommendations.
Benefits Related to Our SOC Network Membership and Participation in Go Army Ed and the Yellow Ribbon Scholarship Program
Liberty University is authorized to issue SOCAD, SOCMAR, SOCNAV and SOCCOAST degree maps, which allow military students and their spouses to easily transfer to Liberty University from other schools affiliated with the SOC network. Courses taken from Liberty University are recognized and accepted by the military, businesses, industries, colleges, and universities around the world.
